Donna Karan Opts for Runway Images as Spring 2009 Ads
We’ve seen plenty of credit crisis cutbacks and cheap-innovations. In fact, our chief Trend Hunter Jeremy Gutsche recently did an interview with CBC about this subject. I didn't expect, however, that the effects of the spiraling economy would reach high fashion ad campaigns.
Rather than spending a big budget on shooting new ads, images from the recent Donna Karan runway show will be used to create the Spring 2009 ad campaign for the Donna Karan Collection.
Patti Cohen, EVP of global marketing and communications for Donna Karan, explains the decision, "We felt that given the economy at this time and what’s going on, that this was kind of a time to be aware of how to best look at how we can make a difference and what we can do to make an effort to be more conscious of what’s happening."
