Stefan Antoni Olmesdahl Truen Architects (SAOTA) is behind 'Cove 6,' an incredible estate located in Knyzna, South Africa.
The home is perched on an exposed cliff edge that offers scenic views of the rocky peninsula and surrounding seascape. The client's main wish was that the panoramic views were taken advantage of. In other words, they wanted a seamless transition between indoor and outdoor living. Stefan Antoni explains,“Great care has been taken to promote the natural attributes of the site with the use of materials to complement the natural color palette and textures of the site to provide the least impact both during construction and after completion."
The architects approached the task by erecting a pavilion that harmonizes with, rather than competes with the surrounding nature, ensuring a cohesive architectural scheme. The home manages to be simultaneously airy and securely moored to the cliffside.
