International beer brand Corona has partnered with the nonprofit organization Oceanic Global to open an all-new sustainable eco-tourism destination called 'Corona Island.' The new destination is a " first-of-its-kind island paradise" located just off the coast of Colombia.
Corona Island is completely free of single-use plastic and operates adhering to sustainability-focused best practices as outlined by Oceanic Global. As a result, Corona Island is the world's first Blue Verified island and tourist destination. Everything from the construction of the buildings on the island to the on-site guest experiences has been shaped around eco-friendly practices.
“Everyone on the team, from our chefs to our architects, contributed to creating a truly single-use plastic-free paradise. We look forward to welcoming visitors, rekindling their relationship with nature, and hopefully creating more advocates to protect our natural world," said Felipe Ambra, Global Vice President for Corona.
