This month, Oreo released the first-ever gluten-free version of its cookies and the announcement inspired a Colorado-based brewery to create a Gluten-Free Oreo Stout. The 6.8% ABV stout from Holidaily Brewing Company is authentically made with generous amounts of Gluten-Free Oreos, which are enhanced with gluten-free malts, whole vanilla beans and cacao nibs. Head brewer Alan Windhausen describes that focus was on "accentuating the special Oreo character while making a beer that was approachable and drinkable."
The brewery is no stranger to creating beer infused with sweet additions. Previously, Holidaily Brewing Company created a Brownie Stout and has experimented with other "pastry stout" styles. For years, the brewery has aspired to make a cookie beer and struggled to get the ingredients just right, until the release of the Gluten-Free Oreo cookies.
