When looking at shipping containers, "home" is not the first thing that comes to most people's minds, but it does for architects Marcio Kogan and Mariana Simas from Studio mk27 in Sao Paulo, Brazil. The shipping container idea is innovative enough on its own, but when paired with designers Diana Radomysler and Mariana Simas, the outcome is flawless.
The discarded shipping containers used in this eco-friendly project are ready-made objects just waiting to be used. Studio mk27 did an excellent job of taking advantage of the containers' linear design and contrasting volume. The house also includes an inner garden and polycarbonate sliding doors, but it's the use of vibrant paint on the shipping containers that is this green home's most radiating feature.
