This comfortable condom design is supposed to feel more like human skin. Arizona State University Assistant Research Professor Shengxi Chen invented a new condom that imitates the reaction skin has to water.
As most condoms are made out of latex, they repel water, unlike skin which takes it in. This is where the unnatural feeling can come from. Chen added chemicals to existing latex contraceptives and found the addition made them more strong and flexible as well. With this comfortable condom, the biochemist could very well have addressed the issue men can have with condoms reducing sensitivity in the reproductive area. He is currently seeking FDA approval so the contraceptives can be tested on humans.
