The Color Me Exhibition Targets Kids' Boundless Creativity
Meghan Young — July 26, 2013 — Life-Stages
The Color Me exhibition is geared specifically to children. As astutely observed on the event page of Sofia Design Week 2013, “Coloring books are never enough, their pages end too soon and the space is too small for an artist to run wild.” So the interactive art installation expands the artistic field in order to cater to the boundless imagination and creativity of kids.
Essentially, the Color Me exhibition involves a series of black and white illustrations created by seven different artists (Vicky Knysh, Asya Koleva, Siyana Zaharieva, Evgeniya Nikolova, Liliya Bardenova, Dmitrii Yagodin and Yasen Zgurovski) that act as a template for the children to riff off of. Arranged in a LEGO-like structure, the Color Me exhibition takes on the feel of a playground.
