Elavi is introducing unique multi-collagen snack bites made with marine and bovine collagen peptides, helping to make collagen snackable in a form other than powders or capsules. The plant protein bites combine the benefits of marine collagen for skin, hair and nails with grass-fed bovine collagen for digestive health.
The fact that the startup's collagen bites are plant-based is significant. as Elavi co-founder Michelle Razavi says regarding collagen, “On its own, it doesn’t hold liquid well together. A lot of oil separation happens, and we experienced that in the first couple of prototypes. That’s why a lot of bars use whey. To have a collagen protein bar that’s non-dairy is incredibly hard.” The bites are powered by pea protein, almond protein powder, cashew butter and coconut oil, plus goji berries, cacao nibs and organic dates for sweetness.
