'Coded Couture' is a new project by fashion label Ivyrevel that will use machine learning software to create personalized dresses. The project, which is a partnership between the computer scientists at Google and the H&M-owned Ivyrevel, will tailor dresses for users based on an analysis of their behaviour completed by Google's Awareness API.
The Coded Couture dresses, which are called Data Dresses, use information gathered over the course of a week in order to create a dress that best suits its wearer's lifestyle. During the week, the app will collect data about things like local weather, its users typical commute and travel routes, and activities like social events and dining. Users can then choose a dress option — for work, for parties, or for formal events — and Coded Couture will create a dress that users can buy.
