The City University of Hong Kong Designs a Wearable Smelling Gadget

The researchers at the City University of Hong Kong have developed a new wearable device that allows users to smell the media that they are watching. The small gadget takes on the same appearance of a nose strip, hanging along the bridge of the note. It rests between the top lip and nostrils and features two odor generators.
These generators will have scented paraffin wax and a thermal actuator. This is connected to a virtual reality system and the generators are able to melt the wax and create a scent for the wearers. The actuator is then able to shut it off and the wax will then return back to its solid state. However, only two scents will be able to be hosted on the device.
