A team of designers from six architecture and design firms work together to create the City Cortex program located in Lisbon. To name a few that were part of the project: Liz Diller, Eduardo Souto de Moura, and Yves Béhar were a part of creating the cork installations.
It was curated by Guta Moura Guedes and produced by Amorim, which is the latest cork processing group in the world. The project asked architects to create installations and structures that expand the use of cork in an urban space. Diller explains the approach at a smaller project and the impact, stating "For me personally, size does matter, in all different ways size matters – the design of a drinking glass is just as complex as designing something like masterplan for part of the city. It's important to do things on an urban scale that has an intimacy."
