The Drake-Themed Church Sign Reaches Out to Young Audiences
Alyson Wyers — August 27, 2015 — Pop Culture
While some might argue the church is growing increasingly irrelevant, a Toronto church sign begs to differ. Located in the west end, the billboard reads 'For God So Loved the 6.' This is a reference to Toronto-based rapper and hip hop artist Drake, who coined the nickname for the Canadian city. The signage is also a play on the popular bible verse John 3:16, "For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life."
The church sign includes another tagline, which reads 'God's love might be hard to understand, but you can certainly experience it.' The ad lists service details for C3 Toronto as well. The Christian church is part of the larger Christian City Church (C3) network.
