This example of child-friendly architecture has made a small space into a beautiful, vibrant part of its surroundings and community in Selb, Germany. The building utilizes a collection of small and narrow town structures to create an interconnected daycare space for mothers' associations to take care of young children and babies during and after their work hours.
The stunning 'Childminders Center' is located on a main street in the ever-urbanized and cramped Serb. The center's bright primary colors standing out against a backdrop of industrial colored grayscale offices and town houses.
The building was created as a collaboration between Spanish firms Taller DE2 Architects and Gutiérrez-Delafuente Architects. This bright, playful design is conducive to a building which provides daycare for children and is an innovative way for architecture firms to fit businesses into cramped urban spaces.
