Cheetos' Cheese Popcorn is a Light Snack Food Hybrid
Laura McQuarrie — April 29, 2015 — Lifestyle
Attendees of CinemaCon in Las Vegas this year were treated to a hybrid cheese-popcorn product that's "still in the very early development stages" according to Cheetos. Even without getting a taste of the snack, it's easy to imagine how well the unmistakable orange-colored dust would taste sprinkled over popcorn. The movie theater convention proved to be the perfect place to hand out samples of the snack, where many movie-goers expressed that this should be a staple theater food from now on.
Powdered popcorn flavoring that tastes like cheese is something that consumers have been able to find on grocery store shelves for years, but it takes a big brand name like Cheetos to make the combination of cheese and popcorn seem exciting again. Hopefully Frito-Lay will be able to announce the arrival of Cheetos Popcorn to market soon.
