Tatiana Bilbao Designs the Hilltop Casa Ventura Family Home
Amy Duong — December 2, 2022 — Art & Design
Mexican architect Tatiana Bilbao talks about her concrete Casa Centura house, which is a large family home that rests from a hillside forest that looks over the city of Monterrey in Mexico. Every unit of the home is designed to follow the shape of the irregular terrain, which is made with cantilevered structures that have a high glaze and terrace to really maximize the panoramic views over the city.
Bilbao states, "The house floats on top of the hill according to the natural topography that was there, The weather here changes through the day very extremely. These changes need to be controlled in a more natural way and concrete is the only material that would allow us to do that."
