The typical approach to constructing the majority of buildings is to focus on containment. The Casa Faustino, however, manages to offer shelter and privacy without this closed-off and inward emphasis; it visibly appears to expand outwards in all directions.
This project by Didier Faustino of Mésarchitectures is one of 12 set for a neighborhood of dream homes in a picturesque Spanish landscape. Each one is completely different -- you wouldn't expect another to resemble such a unique form.
The massing of the Casa Faustino comprises enormous crystalline geometries that jut out from the open center of the dwelling. The windowed ends let in plenty of light during the day, and project it outwards at night as a built and inhabitable Big Bang.
