John Lewis' 'Buster the Boxer' Ad Celebrates the Role of Family Pets
Katherine Pendrill — November 10, 2016 — Marketing
This week, the British retailer John Lewis debuted its latest Christmas commercial titled 'Buster the Boxer.' The company has built a reputation for its exceptional Christmas ads and this year's spot certainly does not disappoint.
In Buster the Boxer, a father is seen building a trampoline for his daughter on Christmas Eve. However, during the night, several animals make their way on to the trampoline and begin bouncing around -- much to the chagrin of the family's pet boxer. On Christmas morning, the boxer bounds out of the house ahead of the family to test out the trampoline for himself. The ad ends with the tagline "Gifts that everyone will love," alluding to the loving role that pets play in every family.
To complement the heat-warming ad, John Lewis will also create a series of stuffed animals based on the characters in the commercial and donate a portion of the sales from these toys to the Wildlife Trust.
