This photo of the Bubble Nebula was taken in July 2009 by the South Common Observatory in Britain. The stellar balloon is located 7,100 light-years from Earth and is about 6 light-years in diameter. The first pictures of the Bubble Nebula were taken by NASA’s Hubble Space Telescope in 1997 (hello, 'Hubble Bubble' title).
The Bubble Nebula moves at around 4.5 million miles per hour and when you rub against it, a carpet will stick to your head (or not).
