Ultra-premium rum brand Brugal works in collaboration with Michelin-starred chef Nieves Barragán Mohacho to bring the palettes of its Dominican heritage to UK menus. Together, the two create a unique culinary experience at London's Sabor restaurant. Comprised of a five-course sharing menu, the dishes evoke Dominican flavor profiles which pair with the notes of Brugal 1888. For only two evenings, Brugal serves masterful dishes to be enjoyed with signature Brugal 1888 cocktails including "The Legacy Spritz, Cafecito Martini, Maestro’s Welcome, and The Voyage."
All of these libations channel their Spanish roots, nodding to founder Andrés Brugal and his time in the Dominican Republic in 1888. Chef Nieves Barragán Mohacho personally hosts and cooks the menu in the open kitchen space on the 15th of October and 29th of October. Guests indulge in the menu of "Figs in Tempura with Ajo Blanco, Suckling Pig, Turbot with Salsa Verde, and Mascarpone Mousse with Wild Berries."
Masro Ronero at Brugal, Jassil Villanueva Quintana shares, “We are thrilled to bring the next phase of La Casa Brugal to London. Through a shared culinary experience with our esteemed Brugal rum and Nieves’ expertly crafted Spanish-inspired dishes, we will create unforgettable moments that embody and celebrate the spirit of togetherness. It’s in these shared experiences that we discover true celebration and moments of joy, and I’m proud to be celebrating our shared values of quality, craftsmanship, and community. I’ve always admired the vibrant flavours and traditions that come from Spain’s rich culinary heritage and know it will pair beautifully with our rum.”
Nieves Barragán Mohacho continues, “I am really excited to work with Brugal on this continuation of 'La Casa Brugal'. The flavours of the rum have truly inspired the menu I have created, and I am really looking forward to bringing it to life!”
