British studio Soup Architects designed the 'Broombank House,' a riverside residence located on a beautiful meadow along the River Alde, in Suffolk, England.
The flexible, two-storey home, designed as a part-time residence for a family with two children, features an urban entrance that establishes the view that is maintained throughout the home. The walls of the lower level are made from hand-made brick, and the roof, which slopes downward, is made from sedum. The ground floor sits comfortably on the embankment of the slanted site, while the more condensed first floor balances above.
Inside, a spacious, open-plan kitchen and adjoining dining area connect to the sheltered terrace (covered by the cantilevered upper floor) through a set of glass sliding doors.
