Designer Brent Christensen is following suit with ice hotels but adds his own flavor to these beautiful man made Ice Castles.
The structures, which are made using spears of frozen water, are majestic and grandiose structures of constructed tiers made entirely from ice. The designer got the idea from experimenting with ice structures in order to find fun, winter appropriate activities to do with his kids.
The artist builds his structures atop a naturally frozen pool of water and uses a layering technique to attach countless icicles together with the help of water to cement them into place. Millions of gallons of water are used to create these structures, which go up to heights of 20-25 feet. Though it may be an arduous process, the result of Brent Christensen and all of his hard work is an astounding and awe-inspiring sight to lay eyes on.
