In recognition of Brain Awareness Week, UK cycling brand Endura is set to reveal publicly its latest helmet that promotes brain protection for cycling enthusiasts. Since 1990, Endura has been raising awareness for brain injuries caused by lack of helmet wearing during cycling and has committed to creating cycling gear that is both functional and innovative, and safe for riders. The helmet was also designed with Liverpool's The Brain Charity.
The helmet is called "Project Heid," and is designed with images of realistic brain injury scans. It contains four CAT scans of patients who sustained life-threatening bicycle-related injuries. The brain illustration illustrates the wound with doctor notes detailing the potential damages on the side. This helmet design aims to promote head protection while riding, as this project aims to reach the demographic of 45 percent of British cyclists who do not ride with helmets. The helmet will be revealed at the St Enoch shopping center in Glasgow on March 17.
