Yamaha Design Laboratory Creates the Bon-Flame Concept

The team at Yamaha Design Laboratory has created the Bon-Flame, which is a beautifully created outdoor heater concept replicating the look of a flame. The heater essentially runs from a bimetallic sheet created from two metals that are glued together.
The different metals have different expansion rates so the sheet can change shape when heat is integrated. The bimetal is a small ball shape at the base that rotates when it is heated and then will bloom like a flower to look like a large flame motif. The concept also transforms the flame of a single burner into far-infrared heat as a more sustainable solution as it produces a lower carbon footprint without compromising aesthetics
