Crux Fermentation Project and Rogue Creamery recently teamed up to create a unique beer experience with the release of their limited-edition Coolship No. 6, a blue cheese ale. This lambic-style ale, crafted with the yeast and flora from Rogue Creamery’s world-renowned Rogue River Blue cheese, brings together the artistry of brewing and cheesemaking in an unexpected way.
Brewed in Rogue Creamery’s facility using Crux’s mobile "Coolship" fermentation tank, the beer aged in oak barrels for nearly two years to develop its complex flavors. The result is a slightly sweet, oaky ale with notes of caramel, dried fig, and tawny port, complemented by the bold character of Rogue River Blue.
The blue cheese ale was available in bottles and on tap for a limited time at Crux tasting rooms in Bend and Portland and Rogue Creamery’s Cheese Shop in Central Point, Oregon.
