Autogrill renovated the former waiting room of Milan's Central Station, a historical location to say the least, creating Bistrot Centrale.
The design concept veers away from mass production and industrialization, opting for a more natural, domestic and artisanal look and feel. The architects worked hard to evoke the archetypal covered market, in which high-quality product is conceived in a natural, seasonal manner; one which respects the products' life cycles.
The project works to provide an intense emotional connection with the consumer, from "The suppliers, the ambiance, the catering concept (offering, service and preparation), the retail offering, the communication and everything else..." Ultimately, the venue aims to be sustainable, yet articulate itself with an emphasis on respect for the natural environment, local culture and economy.
