Biometric security is clearly the wave of the future and the MLB agrees, as it prepares to introduce biometric tickets to stadiums across the US. Announced as part of a new partnership with Clear biometric security, this partnership will allow fans to opt for biometric ticketing at certain ballparks. The use of biometric tickets will require fans to link their Clear accounts to their MLB.com accounts and is scheduled to begin in the 2019 season.
According to Noah Garden, MLB's executive vice president of business, "Our collaboration with Clear is an important new technology initiative, delivering safe, simple and seamless experiences for fans." Not only will this new biometric tickets system increase convenience in entry lines, but will also add another layer of security to ensure games are being attended by legitimate ticket holders.
