Comedy Skit Ice Cream

Clean the Sky - Positive Eco Trends & Breakthroughs

The Ben & Jerry's SNL Batches Will Have People Laughing for Ice Cream

— June 20, 2014 — Lifestyle
The Ben & Jerry's SNL batches will have people chanting, 'I laugh, you laugh, we all laugh for...ice cream.' As though riding the Scotchy Scotch Scotch train that promoted 'Anchorman 2,' it channels two Saturday Night Live skits.

The first Ben & Jerry's SNL flavor is dubbed Lazy Sunday, based, of course, on the skit of the same name starring Andy Samberg and Chris Parnell. It boasts vanilla cake batter ice cream with chocolate and yellow cupcake pieces as well as a chocolate frosting swirl. The second pays tribute to a character made famous by Kristen Wiig, Gilly’s Catastrophic Crunch. It is full of chocolate and sweet cream with caramel clusters, fudge-covered almonds and a marshmallow swirl.
Trend Themes
1. Snl-inspired Ice Cream Flavors - A trend of creating ice cream flavors inspired by pop culture icons is creating opportunities for companies to tap into the nostalgia and appeal of consumers through limited-edition products.
2. Humor as a Marketing Strategy - Humor is increasingly being recognized as an effective marketing tool by companies, allowing them to engage with consumers and differentiate themselves from competitors while creating shareable online content.
3. Collaborative Limited-edition Products - Collaborating with popular shows or cultural icons to create limited-edition products can create buzz for companies who want to tap into dedicated fandoms and attract wider audiences.
Industry Implications
1. Ice Cream Industry - The ice cream industry can take advantage of this trend by creating special edition ice cream flavors inspired by pop culture icons, such as TV shows and films, to attract a wider audience and increase sales.
2. Marketing Industry - With humor becoming a more popular marketing strategy, marketing firms can help companies create humorous advertising campaigns that engage with consumers and distinguish themselves from the competition.
3. Entertainment Industry - Collaborating with popular shows or cultural icons to create limited-edition products is a unique way to connect with fans and generate revenue, making it a potential opportunity for the entertainment industry to explore.
