Belgian architect Paul Neefs originally created a modernist house that has just been restored by architecture studio ISM Architecten, resulting in the BEEV home. It is located in Beerse, Belgium, and has been reconfigured by the studio to expand the functionality of the space for a more efficient design without disrupting the original design, which was first made in 1967.
It features a new rooftop volume that is made from metal sheeting chosen to reflect the colors around the area with the constantly changing weather. Studio founder WIm Van der Vurst notes, "Ensuring that the transformation and addition paid homage to the original design's strengths was an important element and led to several design choices."
