Voyage Foods has developed bean-free coffee for foodservice clients as a future-proof solution that's cost-effective with an eco-friendly profile to boot.
The coffee alternative is crafted with a blend of roasted chickpeas and rice hulls, and boasts a caffeine level that's similar to conventional coffee that's sourced from green tea. The coffee-like product is reported to be more than 40% cheaper than traditional coffee, which would support better margins for operators and also insulate them against commodity volatility in the market. The product comes in an array of options including roast and ground, liquid and liquid concentrate, and instant.
CEO and Founder Adam Maxwell spoke on the bean-free coffee from Voyager Foods saying, "Given the current dynamics of the coffee market, food and beverage suppliers are uneasy about supply-chain volatility as well as fulfilling their triple bottom line of people, planet, and profit. There will always be a place for premium, fair-trade, single-origin coffee, and that’s not our target — we intend to make the biggest possible impact, and we’ll do that by supplying an eco-friendlier, ethically made alternative to commodity coffee.”
