Design firm SANAA has created a concert hall and rehearsal space for the Edward and Joyce Linde Music Building. It is sectioned into three cuboid structures at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology to form a special hub for the school's various music classes. SANAA created the buildings with red-brick cladding and it is all connected by a shared lobby in the center.
The co-founder of SANAA, Kazuyo Sejima explains the design process, noting "There are many technical specifications we had to consider and acoustic conditions we had to create. But we didn't want this to be a purely technical building; rather, a building where people can enjoy creating and listening to music, enjoy coming together, in a space that was functional but also elegant."
