I first thought of chemistry class when I set eyes on these beaker-like lamps. Composed of glass containers that surround the compact fixture components, these ceiling lights are suspended somewhere between industrial and whimsical in style.
With an explanation from their creator, Lucie Koldova, you can begin to see the true inspiration behind these pendant lamps. The pieces are meant to resemble the shapes of traditional noisemakers. Called the Suspension Whistle, this modern item was manufactured by talented Czech glassmakers and produced for BROKIS.
A playful visual interaction occurs between the completely transparent shells of the beaker-like lamps and the boldly finished inner cones. Colors like fuchsia, red, teal and black simply pop from the see-through pipes, exposing their coordinated cords above.
