After starting last year's sandwich wars, Popeyes is keeping the competition on its toes with a new BBQ Bacon Cheddar Chicken Sandwich. While the savory new offering is still only in the testing stage, the sandwich could be the next bestseller for the chicken chain.
Though Popeyes' original chicken sandwich was already a hit, the chain is looking to shake things up by testing a new BBQ Bacon Cheddar Chicken Sandwich at select locations in the Denver, Colorado area. Just as the name suggests, the new sandwich starts with the same crispy-fried chicken breast filet that fans know and love, and pairs it with barrel-cured pickles, cheddar cheese, bacon, and a rich BBQ sauce on a buttered and toasted brioche bun, for a sweet and smoky flavor combination.
