When people think of banana plantation houses, contemporary designs probably don't come to mind first. Yet the George Michael Residence is just that. Located in Peyia, Cyprus, in the midst of a such a plantation, the house is made almost completely out of industrial yet chic concrete with the exception of some warm wood elements paneled throughout.
Designed by Vardastudio Architects, the banana plantation house is large and luxurious. It blends the outside and inside beautifully, a feature that takes advantage of the continuous hot climate of Cyprus. This openness is featured throughout the interior of the home, which is comprised of expansive living areas including that includes a library. The wood elements leak out to create a deck that surrounds a narrow pool.
