IGArchitects Completed the Pyramid Hut Concrete Home

Japanese design firm IGArchitects has completed the Pyramid Hut, which is an angular home made from concrete materials. It is nestled on top of a sloped site in Okinawa and this also serves as the influence. It backs onto a cemetery and the home is a 'closed structure' to bridge some distance between the home and its surroundings. The concrete exterior has a window-less facade and is topped with a glazed roof.
The founder of the studio, Masato Igarashi shared with Dezeen, "This unique shape is derived from the structure of the building, the way it is built, and the environment of the site. The square pyramid is a structurally rational shape, and the roofless form is also considered for the workability of the concrete. The closed structure is also chosen because the surrounding area is so dense that it is difficult to install windows."
