Twitter created an audio Tweet function that may become available for iOS users. Currently, audio Tweets are being tested among a small group of people and a company released a statement on the test, "This is an early test of audio for us and we’re still exploring the best ways to meet the needs of people with different abilities."
The audio Tweets have a max time limit of 140 seconds, however, Tweets that go over the time limit will automatically be placed into a thread. Additionally, audio Tweets can not be used as a reply to an already existing Tweet.
Overall the function provides a new way for users on the platform to communicate with others.
