Mexican architecture and materials are the main inspiration when it comes to the interior decoration of the Ánimo! restaurant in New York City. Nestled in Midtown Manhattan, the space is designed by LA-based Jordana Maisie Design Studio. The restaurant uses materials and culinary influences from Mexico with a specific focus on its breakfast culture above all else.
Founder of the studio, Jordana Maisie noted, "In Spanish, animo signifies the act of reassuring, of encouraging someone to overcome a challenge; not to give up. This is a sentiment intended to liberate you from the day-to-day grind of a bustling city like Manhattan." The interiors are complete with reeded concrete tiles, white awnings over the large windows and doors, and chrome sconces.
