Nobody really expects a stool to be comfortable, yet the Ane Stool certainly is. It may not have a backrest, supports for your forearms or cushions, but it does express a beautiful ergonomic curve to gently embrace your bottom.
This fabulous piece of furniture was created by Troy Backhouse of TBac Design. He was inspired by the form of the circle, and used it to plan the cuts of the timber seat. You'll notice that the group of slats together takes a round shape when viewed from above, while a side perspective illustrates a calculated arc.
Despite the choppiness and apparent complexity of the assembly, the Ane Stool of wood and steel is rather simple and simply wonderful.
