The American Express Canada “Room for Thought” Contest (Sponsored)
Jordan M — August 3, 2011 — Art & Design
Here at Trend Hunter we are constantly on the lookout for initiatives that showcase the limitless ingenuity of human potential, and in that spirit the American Express Canada “Room for Thought” project couldn’t fit the bill more perfectly.
In a time when so many companies seem to take creativity and social change for granted, it’s certainly refreshing to see a project that seeks to shine a light on the very best that Canada has to offer: our tireless desire to change and improve the world. Through the use of the American Express Canada Facebook page the “Room for Thought” campaign will do just that by giving innovative Canadians the opportunity to submit ideas on how they would transform a physical space in downtown Toronto in order to educate, awe and inspire. What makes this initiative so exciting is that the “Room for Thought” project is set to generate ideas that specifically focus on the themes of Community, Music and Travel and Adventure with the three participants who submit the best ideas (one per category) actually getting the opportunity to bring their idea to life at Toronto’s Four Seasons Centre for the Performing Arts in November, 2011.
At its heart, the American Express Canada “Room for Thought” initiative is really about turning great ideas into reality. To that end, each final participant will also have the incredible advantage of having an influential mentor on hand to counsel them, guide them and ultimately ensure the final success of their ideas. So far Marc and Craig Kielburger, Les Stroud and Emily Haines are set to fill this influential role—four names that definitely hold a lot clout in the world of positive social change. With such heavy hitters on hand to make it a success, it’s not hard to see why “Room for Thought” is on track to promote some seriously incredible results.
As always, Trend Hunter will make sure to keep you posted on this incredible campaign as it unfolds. Go to the American Express Canada Facebook page for more details and don’t forget to check out this video for more inspiration!
