The Alvo Stool is a simple seat that may attract but not impress at first glance. That is because its simple design is deception. In a day and age where everyone and their mom can use some kind of special piece of technology to create a piece of furniture, each Alvo Stool is made by hand. In fact, every step and seat is undertaken by the designer himself, Brian Beck.
Designed for Urbancase, a studio based in Seattle, Washington, the Alvo Stool was built using a vintage German block planes and a simple bench lathe--no computer necessary. From the slim legs to the subtly curved seat, the Alvo Stool is a beautiful piece of furniture. It is available in robin's egg blue and white.
