This alternative pasta sauce is an environmentally friendly way to eat bolognese pasta.
'One Hop Kitchen' offers two different bolognese sauces but rather than make them from beef, one is made from meal worms while the other from crickets. These insects are completely safe for consumption and in fact are much healthier for the environment. The company claims that one jar of its sauce "saves 1900 liters of water" -- a stark difference from bolognese made from cow meat. The company also says that because livestock rearing is responsible for a large portion of greenhouse gas emissions and that 35% of methane comes from cows, they would like to reduce the use of these animals as meat products.
