Amazon recently launched a new service for landlords, titled Alexa for Residential, which will streamline the process of setting up Alexa smart home devices in a building. The new system will give residents the ability to use Alex services without needing to create their own account to access smart home capabilities. The new system will also give landlords the ability to create custom Alexa skills, which could empower renters to create a maintains request, or pay rent thought the smart home system.
Several organizations will be early users of the Alexa for Residential service, including IOTA, STRATIS, and Sentient Property Services.
The service will allow Amazon to increase the user base of Alexa devices, as renters will now have to buy an individual device.
