Alex Hanazaki is an architect and landscaper from Sao Paulo, Brazil who has Japanese ancestry, and who was enlisted to create a garden in East Berlin.
The landscaper and architect was tasked with "bringing a dose of Brazil to East Berlin," and wanted to inject a more accurate and less stereotypical interpretation of Brazilian culture into the project. He did this by using the country's "greatest natural richness," its flora. The design of the space also has other cultural influences, including German, Dutch, Japanese, Italian and more. The garden itself is modern, clean and provides a tranquil environment into the middle of East Berlin.
Alex Hanazaki's many cultural influences in designing this garden provides excellent inspiration for those in architecture and landscaping industries.
