In-flight entertainment content powerhouse, Global Eagle, launches its new airline subscription service called Iris. Iris seeks to change the way content is sourced and managed for onboard consumption by using Global Eagle’s technology, including cloud computing and digital infrastructure, along with the company’s in-house content distribution platform.
Global Eagle expects most airline customers to make the switch in the coming months, following the 20 already-transitioned major airline clients before Iris' official launch.
The continuously curated and cost-efficient content subscription packages offer airlines the best of Hollywood and international content. These include new releases, classics, entertainment from Warner Media and HBO Max, Disney, Lionsgate, Banijay, A24, and other non-traditional content providers. Music, podcasts, e-books, and games, and customizable add-ons are also available through Iris.
