Airblock, a new drone and hovercraft toy from Makeblock, isn't just another mindless drone toy for kids. Rather, Airblock is a modular device that can fly just as ably as any other drone toy while teaching kids about coding in order to carry out new and interesting stunts.
The Airblock coding system is similar to Scratch, a drag-and-drop coding language that has become popular in coding education for kids because of its relative similarity to the technology that kids use every day. Through the coding system, kids can put together routines for their drone, and they can even use the code to invent completely novel stunt patterns.
As a drone, Airblock comes with a control core and six magnetically attaching rotors that link onto the hexagonal core. With a different core module, the rotors can be attached to turn Airblock into a hovercraft for water maneuvers.
