Air One is a world-first metropolitan airport designed for flying electric cars and drones. The aviation and aerospace manufacturing company, Urban-Air Port, is the brainpower behind the new aircraft landing and take-off hub. With a 17,000 square foot space, the manufacturing company designed a fully-operational airport for the new vehicles.
Equipped with a charging hub for future electric vertical take-offs and landings, the Air One was constructed from steel and aluminum wrapped in a tensile translucent fabric. It is located in the center of Coventry in the West Midlands and is set to officially open this month. Passenger flying cars could start using the airport by 2025, while the first cargo drone takeoff is set for April 25th, 2022.
