Alauda Aeronautics recently announced its plans to create the first-ever electric flying racing car factory. The company states that it intends to have the produced cars race in the forthcoming Airspeeder racing series. The new factory will be located in the Australian Space Park with a $20 million (AUS) contribution from the South Australian Government.
Alauda Aeronautics hopes to have the first flying race cars produced in 2022. Racing flying cars provides the industry with a place and an opportunity to develop technologies and infrastructures that will lay the foundation for a mobility revolution.
Matt Pearson, the Founder of Airspeeder and Alauda Aeronautics, commented on the new initiative, stating: “As our first electric flying car Grand Prix races draw nearer, we are proud to establish the world’s first purpose built facility for the production of these pioneering racing vehicles."
