Logitech G, a renowned leader in gaming gear, has announced the hosting of an inclusive Rocket League tournament series specifically designed for players with disabilities. This initiative, part of the Logitech G Adaptive Esports Tournaments, is a collaborative effort with AbleGamers Charity, Adaptive Action Sports, and Mt. Sinai. The tournament aims to provide a competitive platform where players with disabilities can connect, compete, and showcase their gaming prowess. The series includes five qualifying rounds leading up to the Grand Final competition, which was scheduled for January 18, 2023. The event marks the second iteration of the Logitech G Adaptive Esports Tournaments, where participants vie for a prize pool of $50,000 in cash and prizes.
The tournament series is not only a competitive event but also a community-building exercise. Each round of the competition is broadcasted on Twitch, with subsequent airings the following week, featuring competition highlights, interviews with competitors, and exclusive giveaways. Additionally, Logitech G has introduced Community Game Nights on Discord following each broadcast, fostering a space for members of the Adaptive Esports Tournaments (AET) to play games, socialize, discuss esports, and win Logitech products. To ensure fair participation, all competitors are required to meet Mount Sinai’s criteria as persons with disabilities, with interview and approval prerequisites before registration. Moreover, this year’s competition includes a fundraising element for Logitech’s three AET charity partners, emphasizing the company’s commitment to supporting organizations that empower the community.
