Tommy Hilfiger Has Made Adaptive Clothing for Differently Abled Kids
Malika Renee Butss — February 26, 2016 — Fashion
Famed American designer Tommy Hilfiger has partnered with Runway of Dreams to launch a line of adaptive clothing for children. This heartwarming line of apparel includes various looks of chic attire suited for differently abled children.
The idea was started by Runway of Dreams founder Mindy Scheier who has an 11 year old son diagnosed with a rare form of muscular dystrophy. This is the first time a major clothing label has ever targeted consumers with different abilities and it does so with style as well as sensitivity. The adaptive clothing line features items that are designed to make getting dressed an easier process for those with physical disabilities. These garments are complete with magnetic closures as opposed to buttons, adjustable pant legs to fit over foot braces as well as adjustable sleeves for any limb differences.
The collection includes 22 pieces for boys and girls, sizes 4 to 20, and is now available on the Tommy Hilfiger website.
