ActKnowledge is a social enterprise that ben around for over 10 years, since 1999, and works in conjunction with the Center for Human Environments at the Graduate Center of the City University of New York in order to promote social change.
The way the staff does this is through what's known as the Theory of Change. It's a way to take stock of an organization and assess the stakeholders involved in order to create and evaluate success.
What is interesting specifically about ActKnowledge is that since it's based in a university, it has access to working with both professors and students. What's more, this means that many of the students have used their work at ActKnowledge in order to fulfill larger projects, that is, their degree requirements in form of a thesis or dissertation.
