With an interactive climbing wall and a playful swing, Japanese architecture studio Hibinosekkei produces an amazingly active childcare center in Tokyo, Japan. The good-natured facility is dedicated to supporting and looking after “children with developmental difficulties.” Surely, the dynamic design that is produced by the firm will engage kids to embrace their surroundings and a healthier lifestyle. By stimulating them physically, Hibinosekkei is also able to awaken a sense of wonder and curiosity that will ultimately work in the children’s favor.
The interior of the active childcare center is strategically arranged by the firm to “engage all five senses […] [through] a range of equipment, architectural features and spaces dedicated to different activities.” This makes for a balanced environment, where kids are safe to explore, intake and process different external stimuli.
